The Shooting
King Von’s death was a heartbreaking loss that affected many. He was killed during an altercation with another rapper’s crew outside a hookah lounge in Atlanta and the individual responsible has now been arrested on felony murder charges; according to DJ Akademiks, their manager spoke with them and claims most of the bullets used came from off-duty police officers that night.
Trap Lore Ross released in 2020 a documentary called King Von: Rap’s First Serial Killer which alleges that “Crazy Story” artist King Von was responsible for 10 murders prior to his death in 2020 and that his music glorified violence.
The video was temporarily taken down from YouTube but will soon be back up again. Already the documentary has caused much debate and serves as an eye-opener that violent gang culture that plagues Chicago is both real and dangerous.
The Accusations
king von autopsy was widely revered within O Block gang culture, as evidenced by his posthumous album featuring contributions from members such as Lil Durk and Boss Top – both O Block members themselves – along with legendary rappers like 21 Savage and G Herbo.
Lul Tim (Timothy Leeks), was arrested for King Von’s homicide in 2020. However, according to his attorney on August 20th felony murder charges were dismissed against Lul Tim.
In his song, he discusses the pressures and difficulties of living in the hood as well as its threats, like dealing with rival individuals out to get revenge against him and his family. He likens their situations to speeding downhill with no brakes applied – something that conveys reality and seriousness in equal measures. Furthermore, he mentions how his cousin can sometimes be untrustworthy but remains part of their clan despite any differences of opinion between them.
The Trial
As this case progresses, prosecutors have made clear their intention to shed more light on O Block’s inner workings. According to one August court filing from prosecutors, Roberson who was arrested in March 2021 told a cooperating witness that he participated in FBG Duck’s killing because King Von had put out a bounty for it.
On November 6, 2020, rapper King Von (real name Dayvon Bennett) was fatally wounded during an altercation between his entourage and that of Quando Rondo outside Monaco Hookah Lounge in downtown Atlanta. A gunfight ensued and three individuals were shot, with Timothy Leeks, also known by his nickname Lul Tim, being one of them; later charged with the crime.
Case has largely remained quiet until now, when YouTube filmmaker Trap Lore Ross released a documentary accusing him of being the first serial killer in hip-hop music history. Although the video has since been taken down from YouTube, allegations remain strong against Trayvon Martin.
